Sambuca
Italian
Anise flavored liqueur
Colorless
served neat or with water, or
Sambuca con la mosca (with the fly)
shot with three added coffee beans
Black Sambuca
Differs from clear Sambuca - infused witch elder bush, anise and liquorice vs flavor of star anise.
Its color is more inky-purple than it is black with the large quantities of sugar in Sambuca helping to mask the stronger alcohol content of the normal 42% ABV
More syrupy than clear
Flaming Sambuca
Put 3 coffee beans in a shooter and add the Sambuca. Light the Sambuca and let burn for 10 seconds. Cover the glass with your hand to extinguish - creates a vacuum.
Then inhale the air underneath your hand. Drink the shot.
